Alameda, California, occupies what was originally a low-lying, marshy peninsula connected to Oakland. It has a population of approximately 77,000. The city spans Alameda Island, Bay Farm Island, and a few minor islands and is teeming with excellent restaurants, shopping, recreation, and health and fitness services.
