Founded in 2009 by Sam Zaid, Jessica Scorpio and Elliot Kroo, Getaround is available in the USA, France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Norway and the UK. Getaround makes sharing cars and trucks simple through its proprietary cloud and in-car Connect® technology. Getaround’s on-demand technology enables a contactless experience — no waiting in line at a car rental facility, manually completing paperwork, or meeting anyone to collect or drop off car keys.

Car sharing is increasingly becoming the efficient alternative to owning a car, and promotes a more sustainable use of cars in cities. Moreover, by sharing the existing cars, we help cities to free up urban space that cars currently occupy.

In April 2019, Getaround acquired Drivy, the biggest carsharing platform in Europe, and Nabobil, the leading carsharing platform in Norway. Nowadays, more than 400 people work at the company with one unique vision: a world where all cars are shared.

The Getaround app is available in more than 950 cities in Europe and the USA.
